Need motivation

Anyone else feeling exceptionally un-motivated these days? I had a jam packed week last week. Literally--I had to check my schedule hour by hour to make sure I wasn't missing something. Just because its not that insane this week gives me no reason to be lazy. I just can't get motivated to do anything--blog, work, do housework, nothing. I think I need a vacation. I have lots of things I need to do and not a lot of time to do them, but yet I keep procrastinating. Someone please give me a little push. (sigh)

What's been happenin'

Yes, I realize it has been two weeks since I've posted an entry. Shame on me. I warned in my last post that life was very hectic and boy has it been. I can't even begin to tell you everything that has been going on in the wonderful world of Hollis, but its all been good and its been busy. I've had lots of photo shoots in the last couple of weeks so I'm working on getting all of those posted on the Lens Envy Blog. There are some cute ones coming so be on the lookout for those.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Boo at the Zoo with two other families. We had a great time. We've all got kids around the same age, so they all had a blast. Hudson loved the train and the carousel. Pictures from that trip are posted here.

We had the fall festival at our church this past Saturday and it was a lot of fun for the kids. Here are a few of those pictures as well.

Saturday The Tide barely pulled off a win over Tennessee. I was on the edge of my seat screaming and biting my nails. Needless to say we were dancing and screaming all over the house when Tennessee's last field goal attempt (that would have won them the game) was blocked by Terrance Cody. It was beautiful. It was close, but hey, a win's a win, right?

Sunday evening our friends Jason and Alesha came over for our annual pumpkin carving festivities. We had a great time with them as always and the pumpkins turned out really cute. I tried my hand at making pumpkin seed brittle after the carving. I found the recipe in a Martha Stewart Halloween magazine and it was a big failure. The mixture tasted and looked fantastic, but it was far from brittle. I left it sitting out to harden for over 24 hours and it never hardened. I called it pumpkin seed goo and tossed it in the trash last night. Oh well. I get points for trying to be creative.

So there's a brief run down of our world. There's much more--too much to tell--but I think that's most of the big stuff. I think I'll be caught up on everything work-wise later this week so hopefully I can get back into my normal posting habits and keep you all constantly updated on our lives. I know you can't stand the suspense!

I need another me

Really. Can anyone play me for a couple of weeks? I need another me. The next month is absolutely jam-packed for me. There's not a night that I don't have something to do or a weekend day without a photo shoot, which means I've got to find time to edit photos and fill Christmas card and print orders, AND do everything else that is required to keep the daily routine up and running. This is a fantastic problem to have and I am in NO WAY complaining. I've been praying for this problem and it seems that He's heard my prayers. I know He won't give me more than I can handle, so I'm heading into the next few weeks with enthusiasm and hope that there's lots more to come! I could just do without the small stuff right now such as hair color appointments, get-togethers, and general housework. I see lots of dust bunnies, crumbs, laundry, and yuck building up in this house over the next couple of weeks. Needless to say, if my blog entries are few and far between from now until mid-November, you'll know why.

It seems like the Fall season always brings choas with it. There are so many events that keep everyone stretched thin--football games, fall festivals, Halloween parties, outdoor events and concerts. It's like we're all trying to get the last bit of fun out of our system before we head into hybernation during the winter months. Just today I was trying to schedule a get-together for one of our many groups of friends and its proving to be dang near impossible. Everyone is so busy right now. Guess its not just me. I know you all can probably feel my pain, so you all wanna join me in saying, "I need another me!"?

The Pumpkin Patch

Pretty Pumpkins

Hudson trying to pick it up.

Won't someone help me pick up these pumpkins?

He found a baby pumpkin just his size.

He sat down on a pumpkin-mommy sees the perfect photo op.

Hudson and all our pumpkins we picked out.

Lantis found this cool one.

He loved the John Deere tractors they had all over the farm. He couldn't pedal so Poppie was forced to push him around on it.

Yay! (who knows why?)

Finally...a good picture of the three of us.

Hudson and Poppie walking back to the car.

Of course we couldn't pass up the fresh lemonade. Guess who loved it?!

We visited the Pumpkin Patch at Old Baker Farm in Harpersville today. We had a really great time and I think Hudson enjoyed it too. He was content and happy the entire time. We particularly liked the hay ride that took us out to the patch. I could have stayed on that ride all day. They had an area where you could see and touch some farm animals. Hudson didn't want to touch any of them, but he did like looking at them. They had a corn maze and a maze made out of hay bales. There was plenty of food to be eaten and picnic areas. If you're looking for a fun family outing I would recommend it. Oh, and we left with some very pretty pumpkins also! They even carry the pumpkins out for you so that you dont have to lug a 10 pound pumpkin in addition to the kid, and everything that goes along the kiddos. Go check it out!

Hudson I Love You

Hudson loves being outside. He loves the moon stars so we go out at night sometimes to let him see them. Last night we were on the front porch moon and star gazing and he was cracking me up so I grabbed the video camera and here's what I just had to share. By the way, he's saying "I love you" and all the grandparents' names: "Mammie, Deedah, Bebe, and Poppie."

Hudson Animal Sounds

I love this guy!!! How precious are these little animal sounds? I love it! I know...you all have kids that are equally as cute, but hopefully you can appreciate. :)

Fall=Fun Fashion

I think we've all established the fact that we southern girls LOVE the fall. That's all I've heard about on recent blogs, facebook posts and twitters. I couldn't agree more sisters! I'm all about the break in the intense summer heat, the crunchy leaves beneath my feet, the crispness in the air, the smell of warm cinnamon-y goodness coming from the kitchen, the ability to pour lots of stuff into the crock pot and let it cook all day and call it supper, new season premiers on TV, and college football, just like the rest of you. However, there's one thing that everyone keeps forgetting to mention--another reason to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fall is FASHION! OMG! I live for fall fashion. I'm a shop-a-holic year round, but it gets somewhat out of control when fall comes around. When I say shop-a-holic, I'm talking I have a salesperson that calls me weekly to inform me that they are holding items for me until I get there to try them on. Someone needs to take control of my shopping habit. Anyway, back to fall: Its when the fashion gurus tell us what we are and aren't supposed to wear for the next year. This is such an important time. Fall fashion sets the precedent for the entire year--later in the year they just alter a few things, make it shorter, thiner, more strap-y and cooler and call it summer wear. So go get your Vogue's, In Style, or Harper's Bazaar magazines and start shopping! Here are a few things I've picked up in the last couple of weeks that I'm super excited about wearing.

If you've seen me in the last two weeks, you've seen this Betsy in tow. I love her.

Much more comfy than they look, I promise.

Miss Me jeans--not the exact pair that I bought, but very similar. Lots of booty bling. :-/

Love these cuffed skinny jeans! I've already worn these a couple of times. Love em!

These are super comfy. I'm wearing these on the days when I have to walk a million miles around the hospital.

Weekend Update

Alesha, Rachel, Jenn, Jules, Christa, and me

The Whole Gang!

My Best friends-Alesha and Rachel. Or as Hudson says-Lulu and Rae-Rae. :)

My best friend Rachel G and I

I had such a fun weekend. Friday night I had all of my girlfriends--some from high school, work, college, previous jobs, etc--over to the house for some good ole girly fun. We had a blast! It was so good to see everyone and catch up.

Saturday I had a photoshoot with my friend Rachel Olis and her family. Check out a preview of the pictures here.

Sunday was catch-up-on-sleep-day.

I didn't accomplish much this weekend, but it was a lot of fun and that's what matters, right!?
